Dr. L. Michael Blevins

 

Dr. L. Michael Blevins is a distinguished senior pastor of the historic Morris Cathedral Church of God in Christ, Inc., renowned spiritual care clinician, and accomplished author. With a deep commitment to fostering faith and providing spiritual guidance, Dr. Blevins has dedicated his life to helping individuals navigate their spiritual journeys.
 
Dr. Blevins is the celebrated author of an insightful autobiography series. His first book, "The Race of Life," delves into the challenges and triumphs of personal growth as a high school and college student athlete. The second book, "The Making of A King," offers a profound exploration of God’s restoration through overcoming life disappointments, being a college dropout out, experiencing a horrific tragedy and his quest to find his way back to his true authentic self. His third book, "It Was All a Dream," has received widespread acclaim for its candid examination of personal and spiritual development. He is currently working on his next highly anticipated book, "The Breaking of Day," which promises to offer profound reflections and guidance on embracing new beginnings and spiritual renewal.
 
Known for his ability to weave practical, spiritual, biblical, and historical examples into his writings, Dr. Blevins’ works resonate deeply with readers seeking to fortify their faith amidst life's uncertainties. His chapter, "Foggy Nights Produce Deeper Faith," stands out for its insightful exploration of navigating uncertainty and trusting the divine process.
 
Dr. Blevins attended Morehouse College as a student athlete, receiving several All-American honors in Track & Field while qualifying for the U.S.A. Olympic Trials in the 100- & 200-meter dash. He graduated from Ohio Christian University with a B.A. in Business Management, received his Master of Divinity ('14), and earned his Doctor of Ministry ('21) degree from The Interdenominational Theological Center – Charles Harrison Mason Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. His dissertation is titled, "The Black Churches Call & Public Response to The School to Prison Pipeline that Impacts Disconnected Black Youth and Young Adults."
 
In addition to his literary and academic accomplishments, Dr. Blevins serves as Superintendent for The Lily of The Valley District in the Wisconsin First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He is also a sought-after speaker and mentor, inspiring countless individuals through his sermons, lectures, and personal interactions. His compassionate approach and unwavering dedication make him a beacon of hope and a trusted guide in the spiritual community.
